Even though we are not singing First Friday noon mass, and the choir will not be singing on Good Friday either, some of the songs that I like to pray and meditate upon during Good Friday are:
(These are songs I sung with my old church for over 12 years. These links below will direct you to YouTube for these Holy Week music)
Sometimes in the morning, before I start my busy day of work, I pick a book and randomly pick a section of the book and read about it.
Today, I picked Carmel, Land Of The Soul, by Carolyn Humphreys, OCDS, OTR. With my eyes closed, while praying my morning prayers, I opened the book to a random page and picked this one section to read.
The second paragraph, line # 13, it said, "Short prayers weave the sacred into struggles, joys, daily routine and lifetime changes."
That is so beautifully written.
This morning, I came in to my office early (very early). I prepared my coffee. Did my morning routine. Picked up one of the books I have in my office, stopped and read a little before I started my busy day.
I bought this book called Carmel, Land of the Soul, by Carolyn Humphreys, OCDS, OTR, published by St. Pauls. Interestingly, this book is published copyright 2004, the year I started my business.
When I like to relax and take a break with a book, I like to just turn to any page and read. Wherever I land my eyes on, that's it. I'll read that. So, I did. It was page 27, the 2nd paragraph.
